Royal Caribbean has announced that it will equip all of its cruise ships with Starlink Internet connectivity services. The telecommunications company, operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX, provides Internet access via a large satellite network that orbits Earth.

Royal Caribbean Adding Elon Musk's Starlink Internet to Cruise Ships

Royal Caribbean is helping you stay connected at sea. The cruise line announcing it has reached a deal to add SpaceX's Starlink Internet service to all of its vessels. It comes after a pilot test on its freedom of the sea ship and it got great reviews. Starlink Internet uses satellites sent to space on SpaceX rockets to deliver connectivity to hard to reach parts of the planet. SpaceX announced its Starlink maritime service just last month. It's already booked a massive customer base. Okay, so Kristin Delta had a similar partnership and I was wondering, okay, what I really actually want to take a flight with Delta because of this connectivity. I haven't experienced it so I can't knock it quite yet. But the price tag is definitely there sterling premium costs about $500 a month. And that's not including the hardware, which cost about $2500. So you can see it's pretty pricey. I'm like, is it gonna work work at like the blink of an eye? That's how fast it is. I guess we'll have to wait and see. But definitely a good moment for exposure for Starlink to be on these cruise liners And look, I think some people take vacation. They go on a cruise to unplug and get off the grid. Well of course, modern day technology, putting us back on the grid even on vacation. Yeah, Yeah. Because I think I haven't gone on a cruise in like ages. But when I went on a cruise, I was almost forced to unplug because it costs so much for international service or I didn't want to deal with the wifi. So it's almost, you know, a barrier to unplugging now because you have this offered on this. And that's why I say, I think it's a great moment of exposure, not necessarily for the vacationers, but for Starlink. Because if you experience this connection in your life, this is great. I can't live without it. You're probably more willing to buy it because you've got to experience it for free with some of these partners. Yeah, Yeah, It's a good story. I'm glad that we covered it. And maybe you can remote work on a cruise ship now with this new technology.
