Sabaah Folayan traveled to Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014 during the uprising that followed the Michael Brown shooting. The first-time filmmaker documented the reaction from residents on the ground in her documentary film "Whose Streets?" Alyssa Julya Smith sits down with Folayan at Cheddar's WeWork studios in Hollywood to talk about the making of the film. Sabaah recounts the love she felt while on the ground in Ferguson, which she says is a direct contrast to what the big corporate media companies were reporting at the time. She also says that to fix the justice system, people need to take a look at it from the ground up. The film is available now on Digital HD and will be available on DVD November 14.
