Samsung Announces New Products at 'Galaxy Unpacked'

This morning, Samsung unveiled a whole lot of new products at its Galaxy unpacked showcase. There's been a lot of buzz online ahead of this big reveal and we have some of the new products right here today. Mark is the content director and editor in chief of Tom's Guide. Thank you so much for joining us, Mark. So let's start with what's probably, you know, the biggest announcement, the newest entries in the Z line phones. What's the scoop on the Z flip phone? Sure. So this is the Galaxy Z flip five. And what's cool about this is that it's a compact phone when you want it and then it unfolds to a 6.67 inch display. So it's basically the same size as the iphone 14 Pro Max, but it's something that easily slips into your pocket. And the pocket part got more interesting because this outer display which they call the flex window just grew from 1.9 inches to now, 3.4 inches. So you could do a lot more with it now. So you could see like on the front display, you can get your notifications. There's widgets here for your calendar, whether you'll be able to play music and there's apps coming to it as well, like uh Google Maps. So imagine to be able to get like turn by turn directions without having to fully turn on your phone. And it also could actually save you time because I think a lot of us like flip up our phone or turn it on and then when we just start scrolling and we forgot why we turn on our phone. So in a way this could actually make you more productive. So you can be on Instagram on the face of it or do you have to open it up and do it? So some apps will actually be able to work on the front display like whatsapp, others will be like widgets and you can see all your widgets at once if you just like pinch in like that, which is pretty neat. Very nice. So I, I think they've done a nice job with the design and I think a lot of people would be talking about the front display and of course, you can take selfies with that front display as well. So I love it. Ok. What about the price? What are we talking about? So this is 9 99. So among foldable phones, this is definitely one of the more affordable options. Ok. And how about the next phone? How about this one? This is the new, this is the galaxy Z fold five fold five. So this one is definitely on the more premium side it goes for 17 99 but this one is really made for multitasking. So you have a huge 7.6 inch display on the inside, a little, a little tablet. Yeah. So it's basically like a phone and tablet in one. So on the outside, you have a 6.2 inch display. Um so it's pretty, you know, you can use it and you can run full apps on it. It's not just widgets, right? But when you want the more immersive experience, you open it to this huge canvas and then you can do some pretty cool things with it. So for example, you can run two apps side by side, very nice, right? And you can also like drag and drop items from one side to the other. And that's why like we're saying it's a tablet and phone in one. So what about the watts? We I have a lot of time. Yeah. So the watch, this is the Galaxy Watch six and this brings back a very popular feature that a lot of people were asking for. And that is this rotating bezel and the screen is much bigger than before. So 20% larger display, 15% slimmer bezels. And it also has some cool new features built in including sleep tracking and it'll also give you like a sleep score depending on how well you sleep if you're if you're wearing this while you're sleeping, it knows, like, how much you're moving in the middle of the night and that sort of thing. And it will give you like a sleep score at the end. I'm probably bad. But it also has some cool, uh, like fitness features. It'll also tell you if there's an irregular heart rate rhythm, which is really important for your health. Absolutely. So, we only have a couple more seconds left. But what about this tablet? It looks like a computer. Yeah. So it kind of is right? So this could replace your laptop because it has a huge uh 14.6 inch display that's bigger than the ipad, which is 12.9 inches. And you can do a lot with this because it has a new snap Dragon HN two processor. So you get like longer performance, a better performance, longer battery life.
