It happened again. Another Norfolk Southern train derailed this time near Springfield Ohio. It derailed about 1000 ft from nearby homes around five p.m. on Saturday. No hazardous materials were involved in this and nobody was hurt this time. 28 train cars went off the tracks and investigators are trying to figure out why. Meanwhile, more than 200 miles away in East Palestine Ohio, crews are still working to clear contaminated materials. Now, in response to both of these incidents, North Fork Southern announced a new safety plan today as part of this plan. The company is adding about 200 temperature sensors along those tracks.
