Shannon's Summer Staycation: How to Go Backyard Glamping

You don't have to break the bank to have fun under the night stars. I'm actually gonna show you how to turn your backyard into a campground and you can use the same tent that you would take camping. But with a few upgrades, you can turn this into a glamping experience, set up your tent together as a family, everyone can chip in to help for added comfort. Put down a tarp or a lining underneath the tent and a mat on the floor inside. You can find options for under $20 on Amazon. Instead of sticking to basic sleeping bags, you can add your favorite blankets and stuffed animals to the tent for more fun. Just make sure everything is machine washable live. You can get those kids tired so you can actually sleep. Oh, two points. There are lots of free options including a scavenger hunt tag or my kids' favorite hide and seek. 789, 10, ready or not. He's got the perfect backyard for. I always wanted to go glamping or camping in my yard. You know, I had to do so much camping growing up as a kid with my family in Colorado, I made it a point to never want to do that when I got older. So now my idea of camping is I'll go into a hotel and then I'll walk outside because I grew up in Queens. We never went camping. I feel like I missed out and welcome back friends to wake up with chatter. I'm Baker. We're still out here glamping in the backyard and it's great because we didn't spend any money on gas and we're close to the bathroom. But now it's time for my kids' favorite part. The more. Yeah. All right. Let's get to it. And by the way, we're gonna take it up a notch. Make your own campfire in the backyard. Use a fire pit, barbecue or grill that you already have at home. Anyway, collect sticks from your yard and use skewers. The secret to making the perfect Smores is not to stick your marshmallow directly into the fire. So it's crispy and burnt on outside. And not melted on the inside. The secret is to slowly rotate. That Smores right over the fire. So it gets nice and melted on the inside and the outside and if you want a little crispy crunch on it at the last minute, you can go ahead and put it in the fire. Now, this is my favorite Smores hack. Instead of using regular old Graham Crackers use Girl Scout cookies as your base and they even have a Smores cookie. There you go. The best Smores ever made. Mm God, God, you can even take the entertainment options to the backyard. Bring your projector out to the garage for a movie theater experience. Right at home. The, you don't need a telescope to enjoy the stars in your backyard. Download a Stargazing app. There are plenty that are kid friendly. I see. All right. Now it's time for us to go to bed.
