OK, we've all heard the phrase time equals money. Well, Shopify has rolled out a meeting cost calculator and efforts to encourage people to empty their calendars of those unnecessary meetings. According to the tech company, an average 30 minute meeting with three employees could cost a company anywhere from 700 to $1600. Calculations are made using data based on average compensation number of attendees and length with the goal of getting rid of even three meetings a week per person. Shopify estimates is going to see a 15% reduction in overall costs. The company said in a statement, the meeting cost calculator is here to challenge the status quo nudging us to reconsider meeting necessity and explore more creative collaboration methods. Well, perhaps it will encourage other companies to follow suit in order to cut costs.
