Now, in the meantime, negotiations continue between the union and the company as well as General Motors and Ford workers at one plant of each of the big three auto makers have been on strike since late Friday. The union's president says strikes would expand tomorrow at noon if there's not serious progress in the talks. Meantime, both GM and STIs announced layoffs yesterday. Citing the economic impact of the strikes, the layoffs will affect about 2000 GM workers in Kansas as well as more than 300 Stellan workers in Ohio and Indiana.
