Futures Mostly Flat Ahead of Second President Trump Impeachment Vote in the House
Futures dipped into the red this morning after fluctuating between positive and negative. Investors were watching Washington, as the House is moving closer to impeaching President Trump for a second time. Wall Street was also monitoring the potential for future stimulus aid from the incoming Biden administration, as well as the expanded coronavirus vaccine rollout. The Slow Vaccine Rollout: 29% of Shots Distributed to States Have Been Administered
While vaccines are making Americans more optimistic about the pandemic, the rollout is incredibly slow. According to Bloomberg's vaccine tracker, 6.25 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been given to Americans and only 29% of shots distributed to states have been administered. We're one week into 2021 and still well below the Trump administration's goal of administering 20 million doses by the end of last year. Dr. Anthony Fauci saying the U.S. needs a little more time to catch up on vaccinating the country. For more, we spoke to Dr. Eric Dickson, CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care.
