Boeing has announced a string of good news this week — but it hasn't helped its stock. A successful Starliner rocket launch, approval of United's 777s by the FAA, and the sale of its 737 Max jets to British Airways' parent company highlighted an otherwise upbeat week.

Stock of the Week: Boeing Sees Some Positive Stories

It's been a busy one for Boeing as the aerospace company has been in the headlines for a variety of reasons. So let's recap how Boeing Fairwood amid a wild week on Wall Street. All in all. There was a lot of good news for Boeing in the past several days, including a historic and long awaited launch of its Starliner spacecraft. After two failed attempts, take a listen three two and lift off. Starliner is headed back to space on the shoulders of atlas, powered by a workforce dedicated to its success. The uncrowned starliner is set to arrive later at the International Space Station to deliver supplies and will return to Earth in a few days. Well, the ultimate goal for it is to carry astronauts someday. But yesterday's launch wasn't all smooth sailing Boeing later revealed to thrusters had failed. Well, officials are optimistic the issue will not derail the mission and still on the right track to reach the I. S. S. And some more solid news for Boeing here. United Airlines saying the company's 52 Boeing Triple seven aircraft have been cleared to fly by the FADA. The planes have been grounded since an engine failure in February of 2021 and the triple sevens represent 10% of United's fleet. United saying it will start putting the planes back into domestic service later this month with international flights to follow gradually. Meanwhile, another boost for Boeing as the parent company of several european carriers, including british airways ordered several dozen 7 37 max jets Deliveries are expected between 2023 and 2027 with a price tag on a single plane between $120 and $130 million. Well that's including what the buyer describes as a substantial discount. The order is a big lift for Boeing because the aircraft manufacturer relies on plane sales to make money, demand for the Boeing 7 37 max has surged since it was re introduced to the market in 2020 after a series of crashes. But at the same time, production issues and regulatory delays have slowed the rollout of other aircraft Boeing. Planning to pause production of its triple seven, explain saying it doesn't expect deliveries to start until 2025 a year later than previously scheduled. Well, despite a wave of good news for Boeing this week, its stock has declined along with major averages and it seems very few stocks were spared in this intense selloff on Wall Street over the past week, Boeing shares down worse than 6%. But taking a look at shares of Boeing so far this year has not been pretty that stock down 44% and the company's debt ballooning during the pandemic as air travel came to a screeching halt and airlines stopped buying new planes to reserve cash. Well, unfortunately Boeing's lack of deliveries means it's been unable to see a significant recovery. We'll see if these recent developments will help the stock moving forward
