Stocks Snap Back to Start October

Stocks snapped back on the first trading day of October, and the first day of the fourth quarter. The Dow gained 500 points as pharmaceutical company Merck gained on the news that its antiviral COVID-19 treatment pill lowers the risk of hospitalization and death.
