Stretching Your Dollar: Hot Holidays Toys and How to Get Them Discounted

Holidays and toys are practically synonymous. And every year it seems like there's a hot new gift for kids. We here to fill us in on what's new and trending in the world of toys as well as how to get a price break. Is Jennifer Lynch from the Toy Association, Jennifer. We love this segment. Welcome to the show was popular on kids wish list this year. Well, you know, classic brands are always resonating. So we've got slide over there and give us hand. Oh my gosh. And he's actually based on the viral dance video and I'm a parent of a toddler. So this song plays all the time in my house and it gets kids up and dancing though, which is kind of nice little active play there. So I keep playing it. It's just so cute. So what tips and tricks are there out there to maybe, you know, get a discount but you know, it's expensive every holiday. Yeah, you know, I definitely look past just the retail sites also check out the manufacturer brand website directly. So I set like this, this is magnet T if you were to go on Amazon, right? Now this that would go for 14% off, which is still great. But during Black Friday to Cyber Monday, this set along with all the set in the magnet website are actually going to be on 20% off. So yeah, this is the Excel set. So extra large t really great. And as you mentioned, actually educational toys trending and this is one it's actually been accredited too, which is pretty cool. Any insider info on how to get your hands on those in demand toys, like, like, like, well again, you know, aside from just going to the manufacturers and stuff, shop, your mom and pop stores in your community too because they are selling a lot of the hot toys that you're going to want on your list this year. And not only that those mom and pop shops, they're also going to get wrap the toys for free. So another added bonus there. And um and you know, like also you can go to a website like Target and you can double down on the deals. So getting a 10% off and then adding on to that with a 25% off a single toy as we talk about deals. Do you think Black Friday is the best day to shop for toys? Not anymore. All these toys are pretty much on sale now so you can get a good deal. So you wanna shop earlier, especially for another hot item, like doggy here, tell me about this. This is really interactive. It's a tech toy for kids. If you've got a kid that's asking for a do to a dog for the holiday. This is really interactive, engaging. And I've actually got him loaded up, he talks with his tail and maybe, you know what, he might have gone to sleep because we were, we were playing with him before playing with him before he comes to life. He's minted. So every dog is unique to kids. He's got a unique I pattern when you unbox him, he's got different paw effects. So and he also talks with his tail. So by that, I mean that we can load up different messages and he's going to actually play them for you. Ok, when he speaks. So he's going to be able to communicate by his tail. He's being a little shy right now. Um But it's really fun and engaging for kids and it, it's just a fun way to interact with a tech toy. Oh, look at that. Now, is there any benefit to waiting until the last minute for shopping for holidays? There's always gonna be those last minute deals. But really if you've got a hot toy that's on your kids wish list, you're gonna want to get it now because it might not be available later. And so many Americans are reporting they have less money to spend this season. Inflation is a problem. Student loans have restarted. Our toy manufacturers sensitive to that this year. Definitely, they're definitely being mindful to that. And you say see that both in price points. So we see a lot of budget friendly items that are coming out these two games over here 1999 a piece. And that's without the deals and discounts that you can find on them right now. And also you're seeing feature rich. So if you've got a product that does come at a higher price point, like doggy, like not only are you going to see good discounts for them, but you can also ensure that they've got feature rich features including in them. So you're gonna get that play value. So that's really important to families. What other things should we keep in mind when shopping online for our little ones? So you're definitely going to want to pay attention to where you're shopping from, making sure it's a legitimate seller. So look out for typos on those listings and a lot of people are still also shopping through influencers these days too. Not all influencers are created equal. So those, those um those tips really apply to the same as when you're going through a link, making sure that it is a legitimate website. It is a legitimate retailer to ensure that. Now I saw you have a little boy who is obsessed with toys like this. Let's not forget the do do Kangaroo. Yes, super fun as I mentioned. So these are both going to be starting next Monday. 50% off target. So great. $10 a piece. You kangaroo. Super simple gameplay for little ones. Ages three and up, you're going to feed him some donuts and eventually he's going to have to go because he's eating too many donuts. He's going to get really excited. He's eating a lot of donuts. That's a lot of donuts. Oh, my goodness. Let's see how many he's going to take and then he's going to have to go. And as you can see, as he's going, he's getting all those donuts popping out from below him and then you're going to have to collect that.
