Well you might be onto something, chinese researchers believe the Earth's inner core may have reversed its rotation. Their findings were just published in the journal Nature Geoscience. Some scientists note this phenomenon can make our planet spin ever so slightly faster. It comes out to a fraction of a millisecond over the course of a year. They came to this conclusion by measuring earthquakes as they passed through the planet along similar paths, and they've been doing this since the 1960s. They found that the intercourse rotation stopped sometime between 2009 and 2020 and may have even reversed direction. Experts say this happens every seven decades or so.
