And another new study looks at how technology is impacting our driving skills. AAA looked at 30 drivers whose cars had automated driving assistance systems. Over a period of 6 to 8 weeks, the systems included features like cruise control or lane keeping assistance. The research found that at first drivers paid more attention while the systems were in place. It also found that in high stress driving situations, driver were less likely to rely on the programs. However, they found that after 6 to 8 weeks, drivers got more warnings from their systems to pay attention to the road that showed the systems were working as designed. But also that when relying on these programs, drivers were not paying close attention to the road. I feel like the people at the New York Stock Exchange floor are very excited about the story.
