And a new study suggests that young people really do spend more time. Online. Researchers at the University of Surrey looked at nearly 800 people found that those 24 and under spent an average of six hours per day online people over 24 spent an average of 4.6 hours online. The scientists also created an internet addiction spectrum splitting users into five groups. Casual users go online for specific tasks. And were the older groups initial users occasionally spent more time online than they intended? Experimenters were more likely to try new apps. Addicts in denial may claim they're not addicted, but the researchers found they often neglected their real life responsibilities for online activities.
