Style Expert Denise Caldwell Unpacks the Clean Beauty Trend

And good morning friends. Welcome back to Cheddar News. I'm Baker here at Cheddar studios in New York City. And as the season changes, you might want to spring clean your beauty products. So here to tell us more about the explosion that we're seeing right now in the clean beauty trend and why it has something literally for everyone, including lots of gender neutral products is style and beauty expert, Denise Caldwell, Denise. Good morning. Thanks so much for joining us. I'm so excited about this because this is a topic I'm really into. We see this everywhere. When you go to stores, clean beauty, it's everywhere. But for a lot of people, they don't really know what that is. What really is the definition of clean beauty. Absolutely. So clean beauty is basically when products are nontoxic, they're made by minerals, they're naturally sourced, also things that are not synthetically made. Um And it's hard sometimes when you think about cosmetics necessarily, there's nothing to really track that. But we now have certificates like the B Corp that can actually do things that are topical where you can say, hey, this has the ingredients and you'll notice all the clean beauty products that I brought today, they have labeling where they're very transparent about what is actually in there, whether it's chemical source or something that actually will tell you if it's non Paraben as well. So it's really good because when we think about what we're eating on the inside, we want that to be healthy, what we're putting on our skin, we want that to be healthy. Absolutely. Absolutely. Because nobody knows a lot of the carcinogens and chemicals and all of those things that we have, especially in our beauty products, our food as well. Uh But let's jump into the products you actually have over here and we know that the weather is getting a little warmer. The thing, I'm always looking for a clean, good S P F out there. That seems to be a really hard thing to find. But you seem to have found the perfect one for me. I did and it just launched today the inky list. We know them. We love them. They're actually B Corp certified. It is, and it is $15 which is hard to do with the Sephora product and it is made with polyglot acid. I hope I said that correctly. Sounds scientific and real true. I love it, Baker because it's gonna give you that dewy finish. Women will love that because it will prime our skin when we're doing makeup. But men, it's gonna protect you. It's hydrating and it goes on so smooth and as you put it on for you, you hit me with a little and I like it has a really kind of clean smell. It, there's no white cast on this and people of color, we love that, that it goes on just nice, clear and dewy. So that's a great thing. Again. It just launched the inky list today for their um S P F Sun protection. Ok, great. We have about two minutes left here and I wanna get to a lot of these moisturizer. Another one. What's a good one that you recommend for the warmer? Absolutely. So we're talking about hydrating our skin. This is actually skin care and what I love is Dr Raj. She actually was a person that studied probiotics for years for almost 20 years. So now she is taking that and doing that with skin care. So if you want something that's gonna be a little bit more clear and calm to the skin, this is your product for that. It's gonna hydrate you. It's newly launched as well. I'm hitting you with all the stuff that just got out on. This is like a really nice little serum here. I like this. And if we're thinking about gut health, hey, now we have biotics for the skin as well. Oh, interesting. OK. Next one, uh your next brand is over 50 years old. Incredible Cocoa Care. So we know them. We love them. Now when we think about things that are made with food. So we have almond oil. We have avocado. Again, you can't eat these, but they do smell good, but they are derived from all 100% natural ingredients. And we talk about cocoa. So this great thing is that it's not only gonna hydrate your skin, but it's gonna help with all those n bruises, pre baby, post baby stretch. Hello? And also for your lips. And I just love it because it smells great. But again, 100% natural ingredients from cocoa care. That one smells like summer that I really love this one. Now, when you think of the anti-aging products, you usually think of chemicals like Botox, but what's a clean option? Denise that really gets the results. I am loving this. So I'm giving you two products from re clean skin care and I really like their oil here. This is really great. It's not only is it calming and it's light, but when you think about things, oils have been all the rage on tiktok and different things. This is something that's gonna give you that you also have a serum that you can use. But again, listing all the products being very transparent about what's in here and it's derived from vegan, no waste products too when they're making their packaging.
