Israeli firm Talon Cyber Security raised a whopping $100 million in series A funding for its built-in security enterprise browser. Cheddar News speaks with its co-founder and CEO Ofer Ben-Noon, who explains what makes TalonWork different from other conventional browsers.

Talon Cyber's Enterprise Browser to Enhance Secure Web Surfing

there's been a slowdown in venture capital investments for early stage startups and an Israeli cybersecurity firm is standing out raising a hefty 100 million in a series a round, pretty impressive. So we're talking about the tel Aviv based talent cybersecurity, it's developed an enterprise web browser with built in cybersecurity that's been uh wowing industry officials and customers alike. So joining me now is over Ben noon co founder and ceo of talent cybersecurity over. Thanks so much for coming on the show. Talk to me more about how this works. Hi hi hi Kristin, so Talent has developed a secure enterprise browser that is actually very similar to the browser you already know, but with all of the enterprise level security capabilities that you would assume when you would like to have that browser protecting your organization. So we are built on chromium which is the open source layer underneath, chrome and edge with capabilities like network security access in reaching their enterprise capabilities of endpoint detection response and allowing pretty much access from any device for any user to any web application allowing employees pretty much to work as they know and as they like in a secure way accessing the web resources of the organization over. Is this built more for the enterprise customer of B two B business or direct to consumer business. So talent is b to be focused only working today with some of the largest organizations in the world. And the goal here is to simplify some of the challenges that we're having while moving into the hybrid workforce. So obviously postponed organizations moved to become a lot more distributed, a lot more hybrid and out of the security capabilities that we used to count on in the past became a lot less efficient in in this environment and that's why we have found a talent for. How does it differ from a VPN? Would you recommend that people use this in conjunction with a VPN or can it simply replace that? So while VPN allows the access into the organization, it still does not help you mitigate the risks of unmanaged endpoints. So what will happen in this use case would be that talent would be securing the edge point that otherwise you cannot manage or protect. So for example, uh enterprise uh, employees that are using their own life talks in some cases or contractors, third party employees uh and there will be the ability to connect from these devices to the corporate network potentially over VPN or directly into their web applications of third party like SAS or internal web applications and to do that via talent enterprise secure browser talent work. I'm just curious $100 million dollars in a series a round over that is pretty impressive. How are you gonna use that to expand the business? So we had a tremendous year and a half since inception books with a lot of uh progress to connect from technology side but also with the customers and also we have won our say innovation sandbox, which was also very much helpful obviously with the customer attraction. And then the goal would be now to extend even more our engineering productive but also ourselves, marketing organizations, many in the US. Uh and the goal will be to support our customers in their new needs in this hybrid work environment. So what's the sort of support I guess that your team provides and you're based in tel Aviv obviously it's a global world but for companies based in the US. I mean the sad reality, the harsh realities that we continue to see an increase in cyber security threats and actual attacks. And so what's the support that you're able to provide? Some of these US based companies that are interested in your product. Sure. So in in this new web based world. So obviously all of the services and companies are moving going through digitalization these days. So most of the applications and what our employees doing on a day to day basis is based on web applications and therefore also the bad guys. The hackers moved their focus more and more into penetrating the browser, doing the home takeovers of taking over the identities of our employees in order to access the corporate resources. And we understood that in this new new world we actually need to shut the front door. So we are still having more and more now malware extensions so extensions which are actually malicious and we're having more and more malware which are penetrating the browser in order to take our our identity in order to access the corporate resources. So we are hardening the browser, making it harder to penetrate into, but also making sure that everything that is running inside the browser is actually separated from this operating system, making sure that the organization data remains by the organization.
