Taye diggs has been busy lately when he isn't starring in one of the several projects in front of the camera. He's hard at work behind it as well. Yeah. And I sat down with the actor and producer to talk all about his brand new hulu series, his kovic partnership and also the new peacock series, The Best Man. The final chapters, take a look. Alright, so tell you a lot of people are excited about the Best man, the final chapters, which is airing on peacock. So how you feeling nights you close out this franchise, you've been a part of for a very long time. Oh, so many, so many feelings. Uh, obviously, uh, we're proud, you know? Uh, this is something we've been working on for the past 20 years, it's always fun to get back together with, with our brothers and sisters. Um, it's like we have a shorthand with each other, We've been working together so long. It doesn't matter what we've been doing in the interim, once we all get back together, it's like, it's like we never left. Um, I'd be lying if I said uh, there weren't that I would be lying if I said there wasn't a better suite, a bittersweet feeling in that, you know, this, this chapter is coming to a close. But it's something that I think uh I think it's it's healthy and I think that the the viewers are gonna are gonna enjoy themselves and you know, be able to have a chance to tie this this entire story up with a, with a nice red holiday bow. I love that. I love and I say you've been part of this for a long time because I mean I don't want to freak you out, but the first film, it came out back in 1999, so literally last century today. I mean how have you and both your characters sort of changed throughout this entire process? Oh man, you know what we've all lived, we've all lived our lives and uh and I could, I could see it more, you know, as active as we, we we have no choice but to pull from, from what we have actually experienced in our in our actual lives and usually it helps. And I've never noticed it more uh than in this uh in this uh in this series. Um everybody had a very kind of confident yet mature uh kind of wisdom about them when it when it came to, to the work and how we kind of uh held ourselves even outside of the project. So um this one was uh it was it was solid. It was solid and everybody was very well behaved. Everything was very deliberate, uh well thought out. Um and it was uh it was a joy. Yeah go ahead brother. Yeah let's talk about your partnership that you've got. You're an ambassador for Q. Vivica. So let's talk about this partnership and how it's really helped with your struggles with insomnia, something I know a lot of people suffer with. Sure sure sure and that's a good segway because you know when you're working on a project like the best man, the hours are crazy and sometimes you know you you're working till you know three a.m. In the morning and and you have to get up you know in a few hours and and for me I don't I don't operate well unless I have a certain amount of sleep. And it took me a while uh to uh to get this kind of regulated and the cubic actually did that. I tried a bunch of other other things you cough syrup and you know other sleep aids and you know Tylenol PM and wine and none of them kind of did the trick. But you know I saw a doctor um once I kind of made a formal complaint to him that I just needed I needed to get this rest because it was affecting my life professionally and personally because it was uh you know it was it was getting in the way of of hanging out with my son. Um and he suggested Civic and it uh it did the job, you know, I highly suggest, you know, making sure your doctor said it's cool, but for me, uh you know, uh I didn't have to worry about waking up groggy or anything of that nature and that was very important to me. So yeah, I know how important that can be, because as a morning news anchor who gets up at three o'clock in the morning, finding the perfect sleep aid is like, so, incredibly important. So, congratulations. I know that means a lot. Let's talk about this amazing dating show you're part of as well. You're helping women get their groove back in this new hulu dating series called back in the groove. So tell us a little bit more about this series. Yes, yes. Years back. My, my first, my first big break was a movie called How Stella got her groove back where I had the honor of working with the beautiful and ageless Angela Bassett. I played, uh, I think I was a 20 year old and she played a woman in her forties and it was, it was uh you know, it was my big break and I had, I had had a ball the movie as well. And uh, and we thought it would make a great um dating show to have women that are, you know, at a certain age where they want to kind of revive their lives. This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with finding the right match or getting married or engaged. This has to do with with women that have lived their lives and need a little jump start or would like a little jumpstart. It's a lot of fun. Um, a lot of really good looking young men and uh, and of course, you know, you got some, some drama as well. So I had a ball filming it, shooting it and uh, and I'm excited.
