The TCS New York City Marathon is turning 50 this year. In 1970, about 55 finishers completed the first New York City marathon and by the end of the decade, the race expanded into all five boroughs. Since then, the race has grown tremendously, attracting more than 50,000 runners and 12,000 volunteers. Kerin Hempel, CEO of the New York Road Runners, joins Cheddar News to talk about the milestone.
