Teens Take Charge Fights for Equal Education

While people of color make up roughly 66% of New York City's public school system, highly competitive schools only enroll 10% of Black and Hispanic students. To fight this discrepancy, New York youth are taking matters into their own hands. Teens Take Charge is a growing coalition of high school students from across New York City who are fighting for the public school system to provide equal education regardless of race. Nelson Luna, founder of Teens Take Charge, joined Wake Up With Cheddar to discuss the organization's mission.
