One step closer to seeing the largest health care workers strike in US history on Saturday, the contract between health care provider, Kaiser Permanente and a coalition representing 25,000 unionized workers expired. Previously, the coalition announced if a contract was not reached, its workers will strike Wednesday through Friday of this week. The coalition said they remained far apart on key issues but that negotiations will continue through. At least today. The workers are seeking pay raises and improved retirement plans and protections against short staffing and outsourcing.
