The Department of Justice is formally challenging the Texas 6-week abortion ban as soon as today. This comes as Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the most restrictive abortion bill in the country into law on Tuesday, and other conservative states are exploring ways to follow the Lone Star State. For example, the governor of South Dakota already issued an executive order restricting access to abortion medication. With the wave of anti-abortion policies and Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court, the fate of Roe V. Wade is becoming increasingly unclear.
