In efforts to block the G.O.P. voting law, over 50 democrats in Texas fled the state to Washington D.C. Democrats say this new voting law would in fact bring more voting restrictions which would lead to voter suppression. Several lawmakers have now said they will take a stand and continue to fight back for their constituents. In response, Gov. Greg Abbott said that he vows to arrest those democrats who fled once they return back into the state. One of those democrats who fled the state, Rep. Gene Wu of Houston, Texas, joined Cheddar to discuss his decision on leaving the state and what this move stands for.
