savor beauty and spa that prioritizes self care, lifting up local business and giving back to the community at large joining us now Angela JIA kim founder and ceo of Saber beauty and spa, welcome to the show what sets saver apart from other beauty and skincare companies because there's so many out there right now. Well it is founded lead and made by women and we are here in new york city um it's a natural skin care brand that's made in new york and inspired by korean beauty rituals. Why did you base your, build your business around self care here, Angela I think, you know, as a busy new yorker as a busy mom, I know what it takes to hustle and I think self care is the foundation for confidence, beauty and joy and you have to nourish to flourish about your plans for growth Mansion Well, so we have two spas here in the city, in the West Village and Upper West Side, we're opening up a saver of union spawned Bangkok, I'm so excited about that um and we're very active with our econ business as well, so that's where I believe our biggest growth is coming from. Why is it so important for you to align saver beauty with social justice and gender equality programs and of course initiatives. Well I think we are you know product of the times and I think women especially today, they can affect the most change in society, I believe that as a woman entrepreneur and I see the change that women make in this world and within my company and so we bring social justice to the table because we want to affect change. We, you know through our products which is natural. Um we try to be as earth friendly as possible. These are very important topics that are very near and dear to our hearts as mothers and women tell me about your products, so they are organic and natural. Um They are made fresh in small batches. I started in my kitchen here in Manhattan over a decade ago, it was a hobby, an expensive hobby and I became an accidental entrepreneur. Um and so now today we manufacture these products in the Hudson valley in new york and we shipped them fresh to all of our spa partners, including the spas here in new york city and worldwide and so you know, we take science based natural ingredients that have been proven to help with the health of the skin, anti aging acne. And um we're offering it worldwide for viewers that want to get their hands on these products, where can they do that and talk to me about the price point here. So it's anywhere from $32 all the way up to kits for $300. Um if you go to our spas, you can get facials anywhere from $150 to $325. Any plans to make products geared towards men, are we sticking with women for now this is gender gender friendly, all of our products. So if you look at the product line, this packaging, um it was designed by an art director at Vogue Beauty. And so it's very gender gender neutral. And we have many, many men who come into the spot and purchase products online. And if you're not busy enough, you actually came out with a book radical radiance. It just released last month. Congratulations. A book is no small feat at all. How are you applying some of these lessons to growing your own business right now? You know, I used to as a new yorker hustle like crazy, you know, working, waking up at six in the morning, working, working until 11 o'clock in the evening. And so, and I used to be a concert pianist. So I was used to practicing, you know, 8 to 13 hours a day. So putting in the work was very natural for me. And so what I've learned though is that you can burn out if you don't take care of yourself. And so this book is really about how to love yourself nourish to flourish. And so it has 12 weeks of self self love rituals over 50 rituals that you can punctuate your days with in order just to fill your wealth so that you can give to others. I think this is very important because at the end of the day, A stressed out Mama stressed out business owner.
