The Day Ahead: Fed Minutes, Inflation Data and Earnings

Welcome back to the closing bell on shutter news. Now, let's get a look at the events that are sure to move markets tomorrow. And let's start with, we're learning more about the Federal Reserve thought process for decision last month to raise rates a quarter of a percentage point. We're going to get minutes that are released from that meeting and they're coming out tomorrow. Investors will be watching for any insights on the near term of interest rates and the overall health of the US economy. The fed did note that future rate hikes may be warranted and Wall Street seems to be pricing at another 25 basis point hike. We're also waiting some key economic data this week with the March consumer price index out tomorrow. Now, the key inflation gauge tracks the monthly change in prices paid by us consumers. And March's tally is expected to show a 5.2% increase year over year, which will be down 6% from the previous month. That would still be well above the fed's target range of 2% analysts and investors hope that the report will give further insight into what the FED might do next with interest rates when the central bank meets in early May and earnings season is continuing on and tomorrow, we're going to get a report from rent the runway. The subscription fashion service offers an e commerce platform that allows women to rent designer apparel and accessories and the company will post financial results after the markets close, the report will come after the company posted a beat on its top and bottom lines in its four most recent quarters. And Warner Brothers Discovery will host a press event tomorrow where it is expected to discuss its new streaming product. According to a report today from the New York Times, Warner Bros Discovery is set to announce the relaunch of HBO Max under the name Max, which will combine content both from HBO Max and Discovery. Plus, the report also says that Max will make its debut sometime in May or June and that will cost $16 a month. The service will also reportedly have several price tiers including a less expensive ad supported tier. Now the event tomorrow will come after Warner Brothers, Discovery announced plans to combine HBO Max and Discovery Plus back in August, a link to the live webcast of the event will be available in the investor relations sections of Warner Brothers discovery website.
