Rob Garf, Vice President of Industry Strategy and Insights for Salesforce, discusses the rise of digital shopping throughout the holiday season. Between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, mobile shopping rose to 40 percent of total online sales. That compares to 29 percent last year. Garf refers to our mobile phones as the "remote control of our life" when discussing the device's increased roll in commerce. He adds that retailers are overall doing a good job of making it easier for consumers to buy on mobile. Garf delves into the rise of Artificial Intelligence as another driver of personalization for shoppers. By the end of cyber week, Garf estimates that 35% of all online shopping will be complete, and by December 3rd that number will rise to 50%. And when it comes to the next several weeks, will the deals just keep getting better? Garf notes that right now is the time to buy, as we are seeing the peak of holiday discounts heading into Christmas.
