Dave Long, CEO of Orangetheory, joins Cheddar News' Hena Doba on a Walk and Talk to discuss the science behind making these workouts a success and to put an Orangetheory workout to the test.

Now there are so many workouts there are to try whether you're into kick boxing, cycling or yoga but not every workout shows you your results in real time Cheddars and adobo got to test out one fitness class that has gained a huge following Orange Theory. She also got to catch up with Orange Theory ceo dave long to get into the business side of things. So here's a look at their walk and talk. We're about to walk into orange theory here in Soho New York but I need to talk about the success story here. You have over 1500 locations globally. Another 100 locations are gonna open up this year. How do you stay competitive in this industry? That is already so saturated. It's a great question. You know, we've we've developed a product that just exists to give our members more life and the results they really want in a very efficient manner. And so we can think about, you know, the Orange Theory brand. It's the best workout by the best coaches that motivate you and an amazing community each studio that our members really get connected to both the other members and the coaches and the staff? Well, I got my Orange Theory gear on, let's go inside, let's get this workout a try Dave. What does an Orange Theory workout consist of? So it's a it's a class based that's led by an amazing coach, one hour workout which combines intervals on a treadmill power creation on a rowing machine as well as amazing functional strength on our workout floor and that's one hour, one workout, all of that full body and cardiovascular all in one hour. Most people have heard about Orange theory but they've never experienced it. What are these workouts about? Why are they so different than other workouts out there? You know, I think our ultimate purpose is to help people live a longer, more vibrant life. And so when you think about that, we've really curated the workout to generate the most results in the shortest amount of time for our members. The workout changes every day. It provides cardiovascular intervals, power portion as well as functional strength on the floor, but all done within one hour. How many times a week does somebody have to do this or should do this? You know, depends on a person's goals. But anywhere from 2 to 4 times a week is really ideal. Dave. I do want to talk about price point. How much does this cost and how do we make it more accessible for people who want to give Orange Theory a try. It's a great question. So, as you can imagine, depending on where you are on the globe, the prices vary quite a bit. We offer multiple membership types as well as packages to really create an entry point than almost anybody. Um can experience it. And also a complementary class that most of our locations where we're doing a lot is with um with subsidy working with, you know like UnitedHealthcare opt in programs that actually subsidize the full membership for their their payees. So I have a lot of friends that have done Orange Theory and they swear by it, I think I have to give it a try. I'm with the coach brian here brian, what are we doing? So I'm gonna hook you up with the heart rate monitor that we have to our system and where will I be seeing the results for this? You're gonna be seeing these results in real time up on that screen and actually we have our system where you see it on your personal screen on both the rower and the treadmill as well. Again in real time, have you now slide your feet in and both at the same time, I'm gonna pull these straps, you want these straps at the wide, your feet are pretty safe and secure. So you're gonna see your name, Hannah, we tap it go, confirming that you and that's what I was talking about your results in real time in front of you as well as the big screen, basic rowing, we're gonna grab the widest part of the handle with me, we're gonna drive back using those legs, lean back and pull it right by the stern. Now we're gonna pause now forward we're gonna go arms only, then you lean forward and then bend those knees. So I'm going back its legs, core arms forward, its arms, core legs, we're just gonna work on focusing on that order and the power will come later. So no one has to be nervous coming into orange theory. Let's say they've never worked out or aren't really in shape. No absolutely not. We honestly have everybody from your first time ever working out. Two very experienced. We have olympians from time to time and you could be on the same side right next to somebody that is a wildly different what you consider level than you and you don't have to feel intimidated about you making progress upon yourself. What are we moving on to next? So we're gonna unstrapped and we're gonna take a walk to the tread. I'm gonna explain what's going on there. So I'm gonna have you go right to number 12. I'm gonna. Stand on tread 11 next to you. So before we do anything we're gonna go over a couple of things. You have your name just like we did on the rower. Gonna tap your name, go and again your results in real time. And so the first five minutes is that warm up into a little bit more. Getting ready for the first what we call block everybody at every different fitness level can do this workout and feel very successful. That was awesome. Nice work. So a little mini O. T. F. Workout. How was it was great. My heart's still going, my favorite part which I've never seen at a gym is how I could see my results on the screen. And you said I reached a slat point.
