Weed might be green, but growing cannabis isn't always environmentally friendly. Outdoor farming impacts rivers and streams and indoor greenhouses consume significant amounts of energy. Canndescent's Adrian Sedlin gave Cheddar's Alyssa Julya Smith a tour of the company's first-in-the-industry solar-powered marijuana facility. Sedlin says the solar-power generation has reduced the company's overall electrical consumption by 62 percent. Canndescent's finished products are marketed as luxury goods and are branded according to the effects they have on users: Calm, Cruise, Create, Connect, and Charge.
