This Week In Trivia: Domino's Pizza, 'Grease,' & Serena Williams

Welcome back to Between Bells, you know, living through history can be exhausting. It's easy to miss a few things with that in mind. It's time for this week in trivia. Please welcome our host and between Bell's executive producer Connor White Car. Alright folks, the game is simple. I'll recap a big story from the past week and then ask a question that's kind of sort of related to Hannah and Asia, you can discuss the answers with one another. You have the option of picking the same one or striking out on your own. I'm switching it up a little bit. I'm trusting you guys here. All right, listen up, here's our first one pizza maybe an italian creation but that doesn't mean Italians like just any pizza domino's is shutting its doors on its 29 italian locations this week after just set been years in the country. The US based chain thought they could distinguish themselves in the italian market by providing a structured national delivery system while introducing italian pizza palettes to some more american style toppings like pineapple. Apparently unsurprisingly the golden arches of Mcdonald's reign supreme among fast food imports in the country with 600 and 15 locations nationally guys, which american fast food chain has the second largest italian footprint. Is it a burger king, B. K. F. C. C. Starbucks De Subway Hannah, what do you think? Okay, I'm caught between A N. C. I mean I feel like there's Starbucks everywhere but burger king is Mcdonald's number one competitor. I'm stuck between A N. C. Asia. What are you thinking Hannah, I'm thinking it's a, because if we're going with that theme of italian foods that Italians have and maybe don't want the american way, Maybe they don't want american coffee from Starbucks because I know they do coffee in their specific way and sometimes the drinks are smaller than what we expect here. So I'm with you. Let's go. A bird going. I don't want to strike out on my own. There you go. Guys were, yes, burger king takes that second spot with 220 locations. Just barely more than one third of its rival Mcdonald's makes sense. Right. If there's something americans do well, it's burgers why it stands to reason why KFC is next on the list with 50 italian restaurants While you can find Starbucks and Subway's selling coffee and sandwiches to the Italians. It's proven just as difficult as pizza. All right, let's move on here to entertainment kind of some sad news this week, legendary singer and actress Olivia Newton john passed away this week after a battle with breast cancer at the age of 73 of course her rise to fame began thanks to a string of country and soft rock hits, but it was her starring role of Sandy in 1978 Grease that propelled her to superstardom alongside john Travolta. But guys, the film's famous pairing almost never happened. Which of these actors was not considered for Danny or Sandy in Grease. Is it a carrie fisher be Henry Winkler. See Marie Osmond. De Diane Keaton Asia. The only reason I'm thinking B is because he's the only guy on this list. So that's not a great way to narrow it down. I'm thinking Henry Winkler. What do you know? But was he considered for Danny or Sandy in Grease but he was in the show Happy Days and I guess his character was Danny esque. Yeah, he was really popular. Okay so I did see an interview this week responsible to saying that the casting was crazy for Sandy and they did want Marie Osmond but everyone he basically said everyone's crush was Olivia newton john and he always knew she was going to take the role. So C. Is definitely not. Uh It's out. Um Carrie fisher, I'm trying to think of the time. For starters, seventies, she might have been popular. Like I can't remember when the first movie was when it came out in the seventies. So maybe she's on there. I'm gonna go d Diane Keaton just because I don't know if she's very Sandy asked does she have musical talent that she's saying I don't know. No you're right. Diane Keaton does not seem Sandy ask. I can't decide between B. And D. Let's lock in D. You're right. Only because they are we're going with D. It is D thank you. Diane Keaton would have been too busy on the set of Annie Hall at the time of production but the other three were almost in the film. Carrie fisher was already Princess Leia at the time as Asia surmised. But director Randal Kleiser roomed with George Lucas and thought she might be a fit Marie Osmond. As Asia mentioned was a front runner for the but as a devout mormon she had objections to Sandy's bad girl transformation. Henry Winkler was actually offered the role of Danny but the Fonz declined out of fear of being. There you go. We worked all the way through that. All right next up here moving over to entertainment this week pray. The latest installment in the predator franchise which we know Hannah is a fan of set a record for viewership on hulu. The prequel debuted over the weekend and parent company Disney says it's the biggest premiere on Hulu ever. That includes all film and tv series. Now Disney made the choice from the beginning to put pray directly on the streamer skipping a theatrical release and it looks like it's paid off. Set in the 17 hundreds, pray follows a young native american woman that encounters the homicidal alien at the center of the franchise. Now it's not only die hard predator fans that love this film. Critics actually do too because it has a 92% critic score on rotten tomatoes folks. How many predator films have there been? Is it a seven B. Eight C nine or D. 10. I'm gonna lock in a wow you're laughing and yeah I feel comfortable. I don't want a confident but pretty comfortable in a. What? What and why? Here's why? Because I just think out of all the predator movies I just watched pray and then went in a mini deep dive and they're just not as many predator movies as I originally thought I was comparing it to alien. There's just not as many. Okay I just had to make sure you weren't cheating Asia. What do you think? Oh that she wasn't cheating. I kind of think it might be your response. I know we never cheat. We're really full of integrity. We really don't. There's no way you can. Um But okay I think it's a two just because I'm trying to count on my hands and think of like Sigourney weaver is related to the alien. Alien. Alien predator. Does that count? Okay so maybe. Oh I don't know. I always stray away from A. And B. Because I feel like those are the easy ones. That make sense. I'm gonna go see Nine. Okay honey you're going you're going well wait okay sorry does alien versus predator count as a predator film now? I'm caught between seven and eight. Alright I'm gonna just go with my initial reaction. Alright. Control room. What do we got? What is the answer? It? Yes there have been there have been seven predator films which as you guys just saw simultaneously feels like way too many and not nearly enough ready to count them everybody in order. We have predator. Predator, two alien versus predator aliens vs predator requiem predators and the predator and finally prey, which is awesome. And you should watch because it's a really good movie. Alright guys, last one here, serena Williams is saying goodbye to tennis. Yes, the 40 year old goat revealing in vogue. She will retire after this year's U. S. Open after turning pro as a 14 year old in 1995. That's insane. Williams won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, a record for any player, male or female in the open era that includes let's scroll past that. She also dominated the sport on the doubles side where she and her older sister venus won an additional 14 majors. I goofed up Williams spent 319 weeks as the world's top ranked female player, the third highest total of all time in vogue. Serena says she's evolving to focus more on the other aspects of her life that interest her, including her work, running her company, serena ventures and growing her family with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who you have to think for wasting all your time on Reddit. Now before she officially steps away from the game, she started playing as a toddler, Serena is going to give it one last go in the U. S. Open, which kicks off on august 29th from New york city guys, you might have just seen it in prompter, But which Grand slam did serena Williams wins? I swear I didn't I didn't notice us times. Is it a the U. S. Open? Be Wimbledon? See the french open. D. The Australian open. I have no idea. I we were running out of time. I'm just gonna say see okay. I'm gonna say a I don't know why.
