Thursday Afternoon Weather Forecast

Now to the weather, Florida is getting hit with flooding and high winds that is causing many to lose power. Plus parts of the northwest will get some snow flurries today. Here's your full forecast. Hello, everybody. I'm storm watch team. Meteorologist Mike Rizzo with your cheddar weather update. We've had some really nasty weather in parts of the country uh from today yesterday and now we're continuing to see that as we head through the weekend too, especially for Florida where there has been some uh really damaging storms that moved across the state. So definitely an eye out toward the southeast. Uh and there is gonna be a coastal system as a result of that. So let's bounce around the country here starting in the northeast where conditions are just nice and pleasant. We do have a milder surge of air coming in up mid Atlantic to the northeast in response to the way that the jet stream is draped across our area. So it definitely looks not bad here. But down toward the southeast coast, there's this subtropical storm or potentially subtropical storm sending a lot of wraparound moisture over toward Florida and that is causing an issue with flooding. You know, this is some of the worst weather that we've seen as of late for this part of the country. The upper Midwest, we have a couple of snow flurries over Montana but conditions over Denver and Colorado, we do have this little system that's coming through to send some snow to the higher there. And of course, some dreary weather over northern California, but not too bad all the way up to Seattle and Washington State. But as you can see that flash flood risk out for Florida continues through Thursday into Friday. This is not a good situation as a lot of rain is going to be falling all the way from Miami all the way to Canaveral and Daytona Beach, even Jacksonville getting under the threat for some flooding. So the east coast of Florida certainly not looking at a nice situation over the next 24 to 48 hours. But as the nation as a whole is taking a look at the conditions here, I think one of the bigger concerns is going to be that coastal system moving up the east coast in combination with that weather front that is gonna be sending showers across the Appalachians down to the Tennessee River Valley and then into New England by the weekend. Now the weekend doesn't look too bad for the east coast as it doesn't improve. But then we have another round of rain all the way from northern California all the way up even into the, uh, uh Seattle area. So definitely keep that in mind. Let's fast forward into Wednesday. This is the biggest travel day of the year up and down the I 95 corridor on the east coast. There's a potential rainstorm that is going to impact travel.
