Everyone with over 10 million followers on Tiktok our next guest is using her voice to advocate for wellness and self love, challenging the current state of the toxic side of social media. Her platform is dedicated to not just letting her followers know, but showing them the best part of embracing your body. Were so excited to say the Tiktoker Brooklyn web is here now, Brooklyn, welcome to the show. Hi, I'm so excited to be here. We are so excited to have such a huge platform with 714 likes on your videos, 10 million followers. Why did you decide to dedicate a lot of content to body positivity? I decided to dedicate a lot of content to it because it was something that was super passionate about even before I started on social media, I was making kind of instagram post just to my friends back in high school talking about it. So then as soon as I started that followers, I was like, wow, I'm reaching a lot of people and a lot of specifically young women around the world and I really wanted to speak out about that because it's so important and like we mentioned, we know this, you have such a huge following, but unfortunately with that comes trolls, how does your career impact your mental health? It can't be easy, especially for someone your age. It was definitely hard navigating it, especially when I was younger and just starting around 16, those comments would really get to me, but it's really just remembering that I know who I am on the inside and that's all that matters at the end of the day. So well said, I think that's so mature. How is the ups and downs of having the social media career and going viral? Make it so important to use your voice to empower other girls and boys out there. I mean the ups and downs are always going to be there, but I really get to do something so special and something that I've dreamed of since I was a little kid. So I think really using my voice is important. Well you're absolutely gorgeous and I've learned you're also an aspiring model and we have seen this shift in the beauty industry where plus size models like Khloe Kardashian's good american for example. But what still needs to change in the beauty industry? I think almost moving away from the label of plus size model and just having models like because every single body is beautiful and having that representation for everyone so that everyone can look and see someone that looks like them and see themselves in someone rather than trying to fit into a box that's only a few people around the world. It's so important to see people that look like you. We talked about that a lot on this network. What advice do you have for someone who may be wanting to enter this career of social media because we know it's not that easy. It's definitely just get on there and start putting yourself out there and creating because that's the best part to start. I mean, I was making videos for about two years before mine got any sort of traction and you're inspiring enough. But you also came out recently as queer. Tell me what pride means to you, Brooklyn. Pride means to me just getting to celebrate myself and celebrate everyone. And how far the whole community has come as well as fighting for everyone else's rights and everything because there's still so much change that needs to happen around the world. Well, you're an inspiration to so many people now is the time when you and I were talking about, I want to bring back my coworker and my co host baker machado cause we're gonna do a Tiktok challenge. We'll play a popular Tiktok sound one at a time and will attempt to do it. So, if baker and I know the dance you put on, which is a funky prop, which is very unlikely. And then vice versa.
