TikToker Emmanuel Duverneau Talks Inspiration Behind Kitchen Videos 

Hey, welcome back to Between bells. Our next guest will have your mouth watering with his foods and your body grooving with his moves. Emmanuel Duvenaud is known for his viral cooking sensation, videos on Tiktok and instagram with over three million Tiktok followers and he's been recognized for this year's black Tiktok Trailblazers list and continues to bring joy to his followers. This cooking style is like no other, he has killing dance moves to go along with his cool cooking. Take it out There. He goes, he's moving and grooving, joining us now is social media influencer and cooking manual duvenaud. Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate you being on the show. Now we gotta talk about your videos because you started posting videos in 2020 and looking back now, did you ever think that you will be this tiktok viral sensation with millions of followers? No, would have never thought that would happen and it's just insane. So why did you start posting videos to begin with? Like, Oh, just let me see what happens. Yeah. So um, I posted like 34 videos during 2020. Um, I would dance with my now wife and you know, her parents backyard or like around different areas and I took a year long break from posting and back in 2021 in october, I started posting cooking videos and I just figured I just thought I would just start posting, I enjoy cooking. I love the art of cooking as well and I would see a lot of cooking videos on the platform. So I figured why not just post it and do my own twist to it as well. So I just started post, I love the twists and the moves you do with it now, you have this cooking style, it's a little unique. How would you describe your cooking style? Because I don't see you measuring much. It just seems like you do a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Like grandma used to do 100%. You hit it right on the nail, just like grandma. I grew up in a household where my mom, my dad, my aunts, everyone would just cook and they just talk some things together tasting as they go. So I'm not the one to measure um anything really except for bacon, but when I'm cooking, I cook with my soul um in my love, so I kind of know in my head now what works and what doesn't work. So I'm tasting as I go, so trial and error, but so you don't like really follow a recipe, you just like start, do you create it as you go, and you're just like, let me put a little this little that or, and I can you really taste what's missing? Oh yeah. So I don't follow recipes at all. I get inspired by different recipes, but I like to add my own twist to it. So typically what we do, we mean to me and my wife, we sit down and talk about, what are we going to create this week and we look at a lot of different things that would probably want to create and then we add our own twist to it. So I could say, hey, I'll add some Babel to this, some red chili peppers, more garlic. I think this could use some thyme or sage. And as you start realizing what, you know, different ingredients taste great with different foods, You just, you know, you just use it in a lot of different dishes as well and it makes sense and it tastes really good. Well you're better than me because my wife will ask me what's missing. I'm like, oh no, it tastes good to me. She's like, no, it doesn't. So you know, along with your journey as a content creator, what would you say is the biggest lesson that you've learned about yourself and your cooking style? Yeah. So the biggest lesson I learned about myself is just one, I like, I'm really consistent and I like to put all of my energy out there. Um, I'm not one to do anything halfway. I believe that you should be committed all the way to one thing. So I learned that with me, I like to refine my process and I just like to make great things. Um, so you know, working with my wife and it's really great because we both have that same mindset of, if we're gonna do something, we're gonna go all the way in. So I've always been that type of person. I moved out from massachusetts to California at 20 years old, um, to, you know, work in a whole different industry and I'm in a different industry as well. So I'm a go getter. That's what I realize. Um as far as like my cooking style, I just think it's fun. It's unique. It's, it's me. Um, and I'm huge in the performing arts and I also love the art of cooking. Every dish does tell a mill, Just tell a story. And also with my dance moves, it's just like a halftime show, You know, there's a lot of waste of time or dead time when you're cooking. So why not put a halftime show in the middle of it? Well then I have to ask you, do you choreograph your halftime show? You say I'm gonna do this dance move is a freestyle, you know, talk to us about that. So it's 100% free style, the songs I choose probably like five minutes before we start cooking. I love music. So I listen to music, you know, throughout the whole day and I could listen to all genres genre music. So, um, depending on my mood, I just pick a song and then the camera starts rolling and I just start freestyling. Okay, well I want you to teach us some freestyle some dance moves real quick? Maybe you can help me out so I can learn to cook through my moves. So what can you teach me? Yeah, yeah, so I'll get up real quick, I'm with you. So there's this one move I usually do all my videos with like my shoulders, right, moving this way and as far as my legs, it's just going, you know, left, right, left, right, left, then you add your shoulders with it right, left, right, and you add a little brew. Oh, I think I got it. I think I got hopefully, hopefully my videos will go viral if I do that real quick. A few of the videos, I don't know, but definitely gonna follow you.
