The early decision deadline for colleges is right around the corner. Those applications are due November 1st, and could be a great option for certain students. Kat Cohen, Founder and CEO of IvyWise, joins Cheddar to explain the benefits and downsides of applying early decision. With higher acceptance rates on average compared to general admission, many students may want to go this route. However, one of the downsides of the option is the inability for applicants to weigh multiple financial aid options. Cohen suggests applying to multiple early action schools as an alternative. Cohen also gives other tips for applicants, such as to cater your application to each school, and have multiple people review your essays.
