let's get you caught up in some of the top entertainment headlines, We're gonna start with marvel in 2019 legendary film director martin Scorsese made a lot of headlines for arguing that marvel movies and of course those marvel superheroes are not in fact movies. Yeah, exactly. That's one of the arguments that he had made over there. Now. One of the things he said, the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Star Elizabeth Holmes or sorry, Elizabeth Olsen telling the independent that she gets frustrated when people make marvel movies seem like a lesser type of art. She went on to say, quote, these are some of the most amazing set designers, costume designers, camera operators. I feel diminishing them with that kind of criticism takes away from all the people who do award winning films that also work on these projects. The actor added quote from an actor's point of view, whatever I get it. I totally understand that there's a different kind of performance that's happening. But I do think throwing marvel under the bus takes away from the hundreds of very talented crew people. This gets to the million bazillion dollar argument that we have all the time, which is what is a movie. What is the movie is a movie that you go and see in a movie theater is a movie, something that you consume in a streaming space. This was the argument we had even before the pandemic, which then changed because we started streaming everything. Um but look, she's absolutely right. You can you can make the argument that maybe these aren't movies because they're not a traditional martin Scorsese steven Spielberg best director or best film kind of program, but she's absolutely right with the amount of crew and talented production staff that it takes to make these movies as high demand as they are. By the way, they're laughing all the way to the box. I was gonna say not to mention the fans that are going and watching this stuff. They think it's a movie and by the way, that's all that matters and they love these movies. I mean the loyalty is strong for this brand. Also the most talked about moment from the Netflix is a joke fest. It will not be seen on the streaming platform. Netflix revealed a slate of content being released from its first ever comedy festival. Dave chappelle's Hollywood Bowl event where the comedian was attacked on stage, it was not included. However, its absence is not due to that assault. Netflix was never taping the comedians for sold out Hollywood Bowl shows for a special. Some of the netflix is a joke fest contest. That content that are premiering on the streamer include, That's My time with David Letterman, Pete Davidson presents, the Best Friends and Amy schumer's parental advisory. All of those specials have air dates in june Okay. Initially they were saying this was being taped for netflix. What do you think changed here? Do you think it's just a lot of people aren't the biggest fans of David chappelle after some of the comments. No, no, because if anything, you know, Ted Sarandos said, netflix has even said that Dave chappelle is still going to play a huge role in the future of netflix. He's got other comedy specials he's going to be doing. And you would also have to think because we have not seen the actual footage like the professional photography, we haven't what happened that night that the demand and the interest to watch something like that would be huge for a company like netflix. So why they're choosing not to do this is really sort of amazing. And the fact that also video footage of this hasn't leaked. We've always, we've only seen the video footage taken off of the cell phones from somebody. Super, super. There is professional camera footage of this somewhere that has not yet. So who is going to use it? Clearly it's not Netflix does Dave chappelle use this for something else? Does somebody else uses for something else. I'm fascinated by this. That netflix has chosen not to actually use this in a moment when they actually need subscribers right now. Meanwhile, the late show is pausing production again, they say after a host, Stephen Colbert reportedly began experiencing what the show is now calling a reoccurrence of Covid Colbert first tested positive for the virus last month and returned to work last week. However, he's now experiencing those symptoms once again the late night show tweeting quote out of an abundance of caution for his staff guests and audience. He will be isolating for a few additional days now. Colbert, bandleader john Baptiste also tested positive days after him. Covid making its way around the late night shows. That's because James corden Seth Meyers and jimmy Kimmel have all recently tested positive. Today, anchor Savannah Guthrie also tested positive for the second time on friday. Again, something is in the air when it comes to these late night show house. It is really crazy the amount of them. And by the way, I think Jimmy Kimmel is coming back this week or next week based off of his, of his uh, you know, staying up to the side because of Covid and they all have live audiences. You never thought you would hear Dolly Parton is starring their new music musical on Tiktok about Taco Bell's mexican pizza. It's all true fact. The country music icon sharing the news about her leading role in Mexican pizza. The musical on social media. The Tiktok project is based on the true story of the internet losing its mind after the fast food chain removed the product from its menu that happened in late 2020. Well now the mexican pizza is back on the menu and guess what? Parton loves Taco Bell and is a fan of the mexican pizza earlier this year, she told Insider she wanted Taco Bell to bring back. The item revealed her unusual order by the way, baker includes a Taco supreme plus a side of rice and beans. This by the way, won't be Tiktok's first musical for you page was performed live from the new york theater and streamed on the platform april 14th and it very, very well you got Me at Pizza and Dolly Parton I will be watching. I mean it makes you think, did Dolly Parton have a role in collectively getting Taco Bell to the Mexican pizza because they had asked her in that interview that you mentioned from Inside and does she love the Mexican pizza engines? She wish it would come back and she said yes and because of the public groundswell got it to come back Taco Bell realizing that there was a really popular menu item. Do you really think she eats Taco Bell? Yeah. You know what I do? I feel like Dolly is so normal. I don't think she would lie on something like that because she's so humble. I mean my God, she almost didn't accept her rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination because she didn't think she was worthy of it. But she's musical worthy of a mexican pizza musical on Tiktok.
