you caught up on some of the top entertainment headlines we're following for you this hour and if you've seen Dune or maybe read the book, it's based on well you know the characters do little things a little bit differently than most people meaning that new cast member Christopher walken, he's going to fit in just fine. The film announcing the iconic actor going to play the role of Emperor Saddam that is a major part of the upcoming sequel, the 79 year old gonna portray the ruler of the entire known universe this while another dude newcomer Florence Pugh, gonna play his daughter and timothy shawarma, Zendaya, Javier Bardem Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson all going to return for part two of that saga Part one by the Way grossed 400 million at the Global Box Office. That's all the more impressive considering the fact that many theaters were closed because of the pandemic and the film had HBO max soon after it arrived in theaters. Film also got 10 Oscar nominations, winning six. I mean the the names and the celebs attached to this, I mean this is almost like don't look up two point oh with the amount of celebrities that are attached this Christopher walken and when you think of somebody that's sort of the ruler of the universe. I mean that basically is Christopher walking already. I am not sure how I feel about this casting but I have no question that he will actually deliver because I recently watched Christopher walk in um in Severance on Apple remember of the millions of titles I've been watching. But yes, he is so good in that. My, I think my biggest question about why I'm curious about this casting is like, what accent will he be the ruler of the universe? Because it's truly an out of this world movie. I fell asleep twice, but it's stunning visually. The storyline is there for fans. Um so I'm just waiting for him to get into hair and makeup like he did maybe in a role like in Sleepy Hollow, if you remember that. Most serious. I'm very excited about Florence Pugh as well. Oh, Florence Pugh by the way, is there not a movie Florence Pugh is not in right now. I feel like Florence Pugh is in like 100 movies right now. And all these other films, like potentially this new Madonna movie that's coming out sometime soon. She's rumored to be cast in that as well. So Florence Pugh is just incredible. And if you can't make one of the summer's major music festivals. Don't worry, hulu! Has you covered the platform? Has nabbed the exclusive streaming rights to Bonnaroo Lollapalooza and Austin city limits hulu streamed Lollapalooza last year but its subscribers will now have access to all three events produced by Live Nation's C three presents now, Bonnaroo, which takes place from june 16th to the 19th in Tennessee will feature performances by Stevie nicks, 21 Savage tool and more while Lollapalooza will hit Chicago in late july with sets from Metallica Dua lipa, Doja Cat and others. A cl will once again take place in Austin this october with the red hot chili peppers, Cisa, Kacey Musgraves and others. So I know you've been on the festival circuit so far this year, going to Coachella. I haven't been able to hit it thus far, but I'm very excited about this kind of coverage and you and I have talked about it a lot on between bells. I've just been kind of waiting for the day when a lot more of live events, live sports, live events like this, particularly in the entertainment realm will make the heavy transition to streamers. And I think we're beginning to see that um kind of develop in front of our eyes and it always gets me excited and actually makes me like musicians more. When you see content like this on streaming platforms, particularly I think of like some of the big concerts that we have access to on a platform, like an HBO or an HBO max those typically or even netflix recently, they've done a really good job at that as well. But I feel like those get you excited and make you feel like, you know, the artists, even if you don't get to be in the thick of it in person at one of these festivals. You're so right Asia, which is why I'm actually kind of surprised the rights for all of these big festivals aren't a bigger deal. I mean, I think, you know, like, I mean, like when Coachella happened, you mentioned, you know, that was being streamed on Youtube. What, what's not to stop like a netflix from bidding for the rights on this because you would get millions of people that maybe don't want to go to the festival, but want to watch all the acts that want to find music discovery that want to watch live music. I mean, watching all this stuff makes me just as exciting as watching the Grammys or the billboard Music awards. Like you want these performances. So I'm glad that hulu is doing this and I wish that we made more of a bigger deal, I guess, of the telling of the television tele visitation, I guess if that's a word of a lot of these big events here, I bet you once it performs really well and they get those streaming numbers and we'll continue to see more of these crop up. I think it's just that it hasn't really been tapped and I would suspect baker, it's almost on the side of the musicians and other stakeholders around these live events wanting the secrecy kind of held so that people actually do go because I know with Coachella, I was following you around on social media and trying to watch some of the livestream, you know, people were posting on Tiktok, some of the stats like I saw doja Cat, um performances and then they would get taken off of the platform. So I think a lot of the time it's on the side of a lot of these live events producers trying to kind of gay keep and hold onto the revenue that they can during this time because they know if people can just access it in the live stream, they may not want to attend. I think you bring up a really good point and look, that was the argument with maybe sports would, if you broadcast sports games, would people not go to the games? It turned out, yes, people still ended up going, but the way that they have these sets sort of produced, they're made for television there, so perfect for television and so I'm surprised we're not making a bigger deal of this, but obviously something to continue to watch, speaking something to watch the Simpsons, they've pretty much carried everything and succession soon going to be added to that list. This sunday, the long running animated series, going to take on the HBO drama, succession. It will have help from some very, someone very familiar in the show, We're talking about Nicholas braun who plays everyone's favorite cousin Greg, He's lending his voice to the episode, which will focus on grandpa Simpson reflecting on a business decision that could have changed his life. That braun isn't the only big name also appearing this week as john Lithgow also going to appear as augustus Redfield, that's the billionaire chairman of Red Star Corporation and clearly an obvious parody of brian Fox is Logan Roy by the way, that's not where the celeb cameos are ending. I mean the list continues, they're also having charli d'Amelio is apparently also going to be in this Seth, Green is apparently going to be in this as well, so I'm almost guessing they're all going to be playing succession family members, but I mean like the love for cousin Greg that everybody has, we all know by the end of the way, but when this show is over it's gonna be cousin Greg that gets the company at the end of the day, it's not gonna be any of the other family members, it's gonna be a cousin Greg spin off, and I think so many people want that, Are you caught up with the show? So good, Okay, and my biggest flex, I like to remind people that I believe, I believe it is the first episode of succession when we get a Kendall Roy name drop of cheddar because he's like catching up on the stock market as he's heading into the office with his beats on and he mentions cheddar. So I always tell people if you're a cheddar fan, you gotta watch succession. I've told Alicia and ava so far, it's been her homework, I gotta go back and see if we got up, but I love that the Simpsons is actually doing a parody of this and I just think it's funny all of the parodies on the Simpsons that have come true in real life. Like some of the things that they predicted my mind is blown anytime. I think about that all we're missing by the way is the Simpsons parroting cheddar is the next thing that we're missing, we're waiting call us. And speaking of those parody is one of the greatest documentaries of all time and perhaps the film responsible for the entire genre is getting a sequel, spinal tap too, will soon be explaining to a whole new generation how these go to 11 according to deadline Castle Rock Entertainment, which relaunched last october has set the sequel as its first project with rob Reiner returning as director stars, Michael, Mckeen, harry shearer and Christopher guest all on board to return as well. The original film, which hit theaters in 1984 will receive a special screening at Cannes Film Festival next week. Speaking to deadline Reiner said he's often asked about a sequel, but the group never had the right idea until now Mckeen sharer and guests to play the band in the film once again, write the music and lyrics for the songs in the new movie and you may remember some of the classics from the original film. So I gotta check it out if I call myself a film, but I feel like spinal tap and like best in show are sort of like the, the two movies that it's like if you haven't seen it, it's like where have you been forever spinal tap. So so funny. And you mentioned, by the way, rob Reiner reprising his role as marty, the documentarian, you told deadline when it was announced that spinal tap would reunite for a final concert. He says as marty, he saw this as a chance to make things right with the band who viewed spinal tap as a hatchet job. So he left his position as an, as an adjunct teachers, assistant to pursue to pursue this. So this is just like so exciting for people who saw the original spinal tap, The last thing I'll note on this, they're actually saying some other real life performers and artists and musicians will also take part in this. So now the reckless speculation game on twitter has basically gone all over the place about what musicians will actually also be in this film. I'm wondering who could it be? I'm like thinking of harry styles, harry styles to also.
