Trial in Elijah McClain Case Begins

The trial in the Elijah mclain case is set to begin today in a Colorado courtroom. You may remember in 2019 mcclean was 23 years old. He was an unarmed black man who police stopped while walking down the street after receiving a call that he looked quote, sketchy officers put him in a chokehold and paramedics gave him a high dose of the sedative ketamine. He later died. Jury selection begins today for two of the officers involved. They will determine if the men are guilty on charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent, reckless homicide and assault. The two men have pleaded not guilty. The trial is set to take about a month and trials for a third officer and two paramedics involved are scheduled to take place later this year.
