The digital revolution is sweeping through every industry, including manufacturing. Jonathan Schwartz and Max Friefeld, Co-Founders of Voodoo Manufacturing, are building the next generation digital factory. Their company is a software-enabled 3D-printing factory producing a wide range of products and prototypes at scale. Voodoo aims to minimize the cost of mass production and customization. With the help of robots and automation, the company is on its way to accomplishing its goal. Voodoo's latest project, Skywalker, launched the first fully functional robot-operated 3D printer cluster to reduce factory costs by 90% over the next 5 years. Voodoo believes its robots are going to change how plastic parts are manufactured and make U.S. manufacturing competitive again. The company doesn't think workers should be worried about being replaced by these robots. Instead, the co-founders say robots will free up their time to focus on more important tasks.
