On Monday, Washington's NFL franchise retired the Redskins nickname and logo it had used for the past 87 years. While the team did not announce a new nickname, Monday's press release said that owner Dan Snyder and head coach Ron Rivera are working closely to develop a new name and design approach that will enhance the standing of the franchise's proud, tradition-rich franchise and inspire sponsors, fans and the community for the next 100 years. Liz Clarke, sports reporter for the Washington Post, discusses why Daniel Snyder decided to make the change now and speculates what the franchise's new nickname could be.
