The Biden administration announced today it's taking steps to convert commercial buildings with high vacancies into affordable residential options. According to the White House, this effort is to deal with the dearth of much needed, affordably priced, conveniently located and energy efficient homes. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spoke to reporters on a call saying the new programs will build on existing commercial to residential conversion projects helping to advance those efforts to increase housing supplies and reduce housing costs.
