Elon Musk is to kick off Tesla's second annual A.I. day, showing off the company's latest tech, including a humanoid robot called 'Optimus.' Cheddar News speaks with Anthony Sassine, Certified Financial Analyst at Kraneshares who previews Tesla's possible announcements.  

What to Expect From the Tesla A.I. Day

well let's take a look at a big stock that we're following. Tesla is second ai day just hours away. The E. V. Makers annual event showcasing its latest technology and amid a flurry of speculations as to what will be discussed in its humanoid robot optimists that ceo Elon musk unofficially confirmed when he tweeted the event date was being switched from august to september in order to present a working prototype. Okay, we're all awaiting this one. Joining me now for a preview of tonight's event is Anthony's has seen certified financial analyst of senior investment strategies at crane shares Anthony. Thanks so much for coming on a friday night unveiling of optimists. What can we expect from this? Humanoid robot? Yeah, thank you for having me, Kristen, I don't know, I mean prototype is a big word, right? But we know that advances in this type of sectors, robotics come very slowly. I mean boston dynamics going to show us how long it takes to do that. But you know Elon musk's uh, kind of vision and this is pretty modest actually is looking just to do a few type of uh, a few type of movements or activities that humans don't want to do it or they're dangerous in a controlled manner. Uh, this could be probably used in a factory line or warehouse to kind of optimize the production process and help lift Tesla's margins even higher than where they where they are today. Okay, so there is a hook for Tesla lifting its margins Anthony as you described there. But it would seem like this is a major investment both time and money. So how will this payoff for Tesla over time. No, absolutely. So if you hear other musk, he talked about a couple of uh earning scholar go, he said this could be bigger twice as big as his vehicle company. Right? The valuation of the human rights. So that that could be a deployment in factories, not just cars, but anything uh, you know any, anything that is manufactured once you crack the code of uh, you know, let having this this humanoid be able to do certain activities in an efficient way. You can just deploy it anywhere. Right? So so he's very optimistic about this. I mean the short term the consequences of this meeting or the humanoid or autonomous driving or even the dojo computer are going to be very, very, you know, inconsequential if you want. But in the long term they could have a significant impact on Tesla's value. Right? So my next question Anthony is I can see where Elon musk. I would have demand for a humanoid robot makes sense. But what about corporate America and just an everyday american. I mean will this show up in our homes and in our office faces? And what would the price point even be? Yeah, you never know. You know like again, once, once you're able to kind of control the movement and and the reactions of of this machine, you can just use it in anywhere in any kind of application and it's hard to see what's the price point is going to be at this point in time, we're gonna have to see how efficient, how far they go with that. But but you know, this could be a big development, especially on the manufacturing side, especially in automative manufacturing side, we've seen already 30% operating margin from Tesla, which is higher than any auto company has done before. So if this holds true, you know, that could that could push that number even higher. But that's good to see, you know, this event is kind of a reminder of the innovation and that these companies are doing right, especially in markets like today, especially as the automakers are getting hammered this year. This is a good reminder that these companies are actually doing shaping our future right? And the market action today is really not determinant of what's really happening in these companies. You know, I think this is the living embodiment of robots taking over right in human form. That's the concern when we look at the food chain that this robot that looks like a human might be replacing humans over time and think now of course when it comes to Tesla's own vehicles, whether it's the autopilot system or other software updates, right, the company simply hasn't gotten it perfect. I don't think you can say that any company does get it exactly perfect. But what is the trust that Tesla's gonna need to build with clientele that this human looking robot isn't gonna go a ride that something isn't gonna go wrong. You know actually Elon musk is one of the you know if you if you see some of his tweets or comments from three years ago he kind of predicted you know the word grand by robots. But he really going out of his way to say that the robot is nice and friendly. If you look at the instagram post from yesterday he kind of showed the robot during the the heart shape, you know and he said you know this if you can run more than five miles an hour you'll be fine because these are what are supposed to do a specific task. So he's one of these guys that are actually worried about that. But you know in the factory application this could be very helpful. It could it could improve margins, it could you know, help Tesla and many other companies realize much higher values. Optimists make sense right? Trying to get the optimal returns on that manufacturing Anthony's has seen C. F. A. A. And and senior investment of strategies that Crane shares.
