Bob's Burgers: Season 12 Premiere - Hulu

This is the best show on TV, so who isn't stoked for its grand return? There's no way I'm going to catch it Sunday night (I just never make it in time), but it'll be streaming on Hulu on Monday, so I'll be catching up with the beloved Belcher family at my convenience. The cartoon family, led by the eponymous patriarch and burger-joint owner Bob, will be getting into its usual hijinks with laughs good for both parents and kids alike (who don't understand the more adult innuendos). And, once I'm done, maybe I'll also catch the season premiere of The Great North — a must-see if you already like Bob's.
Doom Patrol: Season 3 - HBO Max

The absurd, surreal superhero comic book adaptation that challenges the notion that there's been an oversaturation of the superhero comic book adaptation is back! Doom Patrol, based on the DC comic of the same name, dropped its first three episodes of the third season on Thursday on HBO Max. The original X-Men comic is often cited as being inspired by/ripped off from this team of weird heroes led by a scientist who uses a wheelchair, but the similarities diverged a long time ago. The show features a cast of reluctant, miserable people who are sometimes forced together to take on ridiculous enemies like the Brotherhood of Evil or help a sentient, LGBTQ-friendly street fleeing the U.S. government. Yes. A street. Come for the comic book action. Stay for the deep dives into mental illness and trauma — but, like, in a fun way. Seasons 1 and 2 are all available to stream if you want to catch up.
Cry Macho - HBO Max

Clint Eastwood is either a relic from a different era or a living legend depending on your tastes. I happen to be in the latter camp. The actor-director has starred in and directed good-to-great films for more than a half-century, and even in the last five years, he's done some of his best work. His 2019 film Richard Jewell, for instance, is a knockout, synthesizing and complicating his long-held interests in masculinity, power, and dignity. His latest, Cry Macho, is comparatively lighter fare for the grizzled cowboy actor, but it deals in similar themes of what it means to be a good man in a changing world. Some are calling it his swan song, but that's never a safe bet when you're talking about Eastwood, who at 91 years old is still as prolific as ever.

This weekend, it’s all about the bingeables! Summer is over so why not curl up on the couch and get sucked into Designated Survivor if you haven't yet? It’s the story of Tom Kirkland, played by Kiefer Sutherland, the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and his ascent to the presidency of the United States after a terror attack wiped out the line of succession to the White House. The show spans three seasons with the first two having more than 20 episodes! Season three was just a 10 episode order, but still, there's a lot for you to consume!
