The White House announced that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to meet with Russia's President Vladimir Putin to talk about an arms deal. A Russian defense Minister traveled to Pyongyang in July where the possibility of North Korea providing weapons for Russia's war in Ukraine was discussed. A US National Security Council spokesperson said last week that the two leaders have since communicated by letter, actively advancing negotiations and it would be Kim's first trip outside of North Korea since the pandemic while the Kremlin hasn't confirmed or denied this potential meeting.
