White House Says Kim Jong Un to Meet With Putin

The White House announced North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to disclose an arms deal. A Russian defense Minister traveled to Pyongyang in July where the possibility of North Korea providing weapons for Russia's war in Ukraine was discussed. A US National Security Council spokesperson said last week that the two leaders have since communicated by letter, actively advancing negotiations. This would be Kim's first trip outside of North Korea since the pandemic. The Kremlin has not confirmed or denied this potential meeting.
