Not all meal kits are created equal. While some customers complain that their subscription services don't offer enough customization or variety, one company in the space is doubling down on choice. Sun Basket CEO Adam Zbar joins us to discuss his company's newly-announced premium meat selections. Zbar says the decision to introduce the new options was an easy one, as it's what customers kept asking for. Then, we take a look at the meal kit landscape. Blue Apron is one of 2017's lowest-performing IPO's, but Zbar says it hasn't impacted Sun Basket. He says that from where he sits, the industry is booming, pointing to his company's growth and unit economics as to why "business has never been better." Finally, we ask Zbar about Amazon's entry into the space with its acquisition of Whole Foods. He says his company is thriving as an independent company, citing Sun Basket as the most capital-efficient player in the space. If approached by the e-commerce giant for a partnership, Zbar says "we're always delighted to have conversations like that."
