Amanda Steinberg, Founder & CEO of DailyWorth and Author of "Worth It," joins Your Cheddar to talk about the market for women getting involved in money management. She says that over the next 15 years women will inherit more than $20 trillion in investments, so they need to start rewriting the investment rulebook now. She talks about social norms vs. biology when it comes to the stereotype that men are better investors than women. A study showed that women earned higher returns on their investments than their male counterparts, but many women don't believe they can do as well. When it comes to women and finances, Steinberg says the relationship between self-worth and money management starts at your roots. She says the common theory that women are more risk-averse than men isn't true and that we need to start teaching our kids about money and investing as early as 8 or 9 years old.
