World Food Prices Down 18% Since March

Good news for billions of people around the world. World food prices fell in January for the 10th straight month. That's from, that's according to data from the Food and Agricultural organizations price index. And it shows food prices are now down roughly 18% from last March's record high which was Sparked in part by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The index fell because of dips in the prices of vegetables, vegetable oils, dairy and sugar. Now the cost of cereals and meat, however, that didn't change very much. Food prices are expected to grow more slowly this year than they did in 2022. But still at above average rates.
