The platform formerly known as Twitter is testing a fee for new unverified users. The Elon Musk and company will begin charging new users with unverified accounts $1 annually. The test is the set is set to roll out in New Zealand and the Philippines in a bid to limit the amount of spam and bots that the platform. The company is calling the test program not a bot if new users don't want to fork over a dollar, they don't have to, but their account will be limited. Users who do not pay the fee will only be allowed to view post videos and follow accounts. They will not be able to interact with other users or make their own posts.
