Your Friday Weather Forecast for Sept. 1, 2023 and Labor Day Weekend

Now to the weather heading into the Labor Day weekend, temperatures are going to start heating up again across the whole country but some rain showers are expected for the west and the southeast. Here's your full forecast. Meteorologist Scott Skoff here with the forecast here on Cheddar. We're looking at some really good conditions across much of the upper plains all the way, the northeast thanks to a huge area of high pressure which has been giving us pleasant weather but hotter as you go to the middle of the country. But if you are going to be heading on from the shorelines of Maine all the way down to the Carolinas, we're still dealing with the effects of clean up from hurricane Idalia as well as the other tropical systems across the country. So the waters are definitely going to be on the rough side, but things looking crystal clear over in the northeast. But if you're heading down to the Gulf coast towards Atlanta, Mississippi, even into Florida, looking at a few showers and storms possible over the next couple of days as well, looking pretty good though in the upper Midwest, but a few showers are possible over into the Rockies with some flooding as you go down to Arizona, Utah and southern Nevada towards Vegas. So as you go into your Saturday and Sunday looking pretty good for most of the country. But we are seeing some more shower chances into your Tuesday and Wednesday as we go into next week, things are definitely going to be heating up as well. But for your Saturday Labor Day weekend, it's a big one out there going to be seeing the eighties over in New York and Philly, a lot hotter over in the Midwest, over towards 97 degrees near 100 in Fargo, Dallas, Houston, even Denver, Colorado Sunday looking very hot as well. Look at that over 100 degrees over towards Minnesota, North Dakota all the way down to Kansas and the nineties are really going to be throughout New York City, the eastern two thirds of the country. Much cooler if you want that relief, that's where you go down to California and much of the Pacific northwest and even the rocky mountains. And then things are going to be still hot over from Colorado, the eastern side of the Rockies all the way into Philly, New York. Atlanta, ST Louis as well.
