Your Monday Weather Forecast for August 14, 2023

Now for national weather, the South is still facing humidity and high temperatures plus expect rain in the tristate area. Here's your coast to coast forecast. I'm meteorologist Hilda Estevez, with your latest chatter weather across the nation. We're noticing that, you know, the thunderstorm threat is not too super magnificent and standing as well as it being very widespread today. Notice though Tennessee, you're in this Kentucky as well all the way up towards portions of the Garden State, Pittsburgh. You're right at the cusp for the potential to see some severe weather. We're talking gusty winds, some potential for some rotation as well and heavy downpours heading into the overnight as well and impacting Tuesday as it will continue to slide off. We are noticing though that the wet weather right now is right around Chicago and as far as the northeast goes, it's quiet now, but a lot of this energy will be pulsing right off to the east and it will be much concerning set up for later this evening. A notice, Orlando or New Orleans quiet right now. Atlanta also dry the great plains also sitting still and not much is happening out off to our west, as far as Medford and San Francisco go though, there are some residual showers that we're noticing in places like Albuquerque and much needed, especially with the dramatic heat wave that they have been under Tuesday definitely brings a wet weather like as mentioned, heading into New England. And as far as the rain goes, it's not extremely widespread when we're talking about the next two days thereafter, we do notice the big possibility once again for some moisture sliding down to New York State on Friday. But as far as that heat goes, that's truly the big talker today. As we'll notice once again, the triple digits for places like Houston feeling the heat and the warmth, humidity as well in the sunshine state. And we can also see that definitely going up into San Francisco for Wednesday into the seventies, although not as warm as Billings with 101 degrees for Thursday.
