It's time now for a look at the weather or risk of severe storms is hitting states like Kansas and Colorado, some scattered showers on the way for us in the northeast. Here's our full forecast. I'm meteorologist Samantha. With your latest chet weather update. We are tracking a round of severe weather today with the heat and humidity. You can see the bulls eye here where there is an enhanced risk for severe storms. We're talking about 60 mile per hour winds and stronger hail, 1 to 2 inches in diameter and possibly some tornadoes here right in this little brown area and that's parts of Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado. So we're going to be watching out for that this afternoon heading into this evening and you can see some of those storm firing up today along the ridge of hot humid weather that's just been hammering parts of the south, especially Texas into Oklahoma. We do have some scattered showers that will be approaching the northeast that's going to reach you on Friday. The good news is you're clearing out on the weekend. It does get a little bit unsettled here along the east coast. Now, Saturday into Sunday, more storms are firing up in parts of the Midwest. There could be some severe weather here and eventually you're going to get a little bit of a break from the hot and humid weather, especially in the north. It looks nice early next week we have another front that's approaching the east coast with some showers and in the meantime, starting to get a little bit of rainfall now, in parts of Washington down into Oregon, but California still looking good, especially along the coastline. All right. Today, your high temperature from Burlington to New York City, upper seventies to near 80 humidity is starting to rise. Now we're going to get that warm feeling back, Detroit, beautiful for you today with sunshine topping out near seven, you can see that hot stuff. Dallas 106 again today, New Orleans 97 hot and humid in Florida. Those pop up storms continue with temperatures in the upper eighties to near 90 still very hot in Vegas as well as at 105. Denver. Watching for some late day storms you're topping out in the eighties and the cool spot continues to be San Francisco where you have sunshine temperatures in the sixties. Seattle looking great today with highs in the low eighties.
