And time now for a look at the weather. Idalia and Franklin are starting to make their way away from the east, but the Midwest is getting a slight break from the heat as well. Here's your full forecast. I'm Samantha Auri. With your latest cheddar weather update. We've had a lot of action in the tropics lately with Idalia and Franklin and these storms are now starting to track off the east coast. We've had the damaging winds, the flooding, the storms and of course, the impacts along the coastline here, but better weather is coming in, especially around the northeast and then down south, you see a little bit of improvement. There will continue to be some showers in the Gulf states for Friday, maybe even into the start of the weekend. Andy Daly will be kind of just sitting off the coast so that could keep some rip currents in the forecast here all along the east coast, even as far as Long Island and perhaps up to Maine through parts of the holiday weekend, Saturday, maybe even Sunday. Meanwhile, in the Midwest, you're getting that break, it's still hot but not as hot and at least you have that sunshine and quiet weather as we head into your holiday weekend along the east coast, just some widely scattered showers but really nothing major. We are still looking at Idalia sitting out over the Atlantic. This is Sunday into Monday, might back towards the coast a little bit before it moves on out. Meanwhile, we have beautiful sunshine around the northeast and in parts of the southwest where we'll be heating up. So today, 75 degrees in New York City, it's a beautiful day with that sunshine. We will be cleaning up after the storm here. Pop up. Thunderstorm left over from Orlando Tampa 87 where it's very warm and humid in Texas. Temperatures in the nineties to near 100 degrees. The heat is on in Vegas 107 95. Albuquerque, New Mexico, cooler to the northwest. Starting to see some scattered showers and clouds around Seattle. Today temperatures will be in the sixties.
